'Shout out': Rio Ferdinand sends message to Arsenal fans after title is 'sealed'

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand sent a message to Arsenal fans following the club’s first Premier League title in 22 years.

The Gunners clinched the English crown on Tuesday night after Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on the road.

The Cherries scored early through Junior Kroupi in the 38th minute and were by far the better team over the course of the encounter.

David Brooks missed two clear-cut chances to double the lead, which caused a nervy ending after Erling Haaland’s 94th-minute goal.

The Cherries eventually shared the spoils, ensuring the Gunners won their first league title since the Invincibles in the 2003/04 season.

After the result, Ferdinand sent a message to Arsenal fans and jokingly asked for an apology from Patrice Evra for mocking the Gunners in a recent podcast.

Shout out Arsenal fans…

Years of mockery… nearly men!

Tonight, sealed it.@Evra where’s your apology 😂😂😂

Arsenal once won the Premier League title after three second-place finishes under former legendary manager Arsene Wenger. They repeated the feat in 2026 under manager Mikel Arteta.

They had to do it the hard way after back-to-back losses following the last international break. Man City were deemed as favourites at the time, but fumbled with draws at Everton and Bournemouth.

The Gunners made the most with four straight league victories. There will likely be a guard of honour at Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon before the club lift a long-awaited league title.

We will no doubt see a completely changed starting XI for the London derby at Selhurst Park. Arsenal have a huge Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest, Hungary, on May 30.

Les Parisiens are big favourites to beat Arsenal to clinch a second-straight European crown, but the Gunners should go into the game with confidence after ending their league title drought.
