It is fair to say that Andrey Santos’ wife was quite surprised after her husband was able to score in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur!
Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring on Tuesday night before Santos doubled Chelsea’s lead in the second half.
It was only the midfielder’s third goal this season and his first in the Premier League, hence Mrs Santos’ surprise.
However, it was something he desperately needed after being left out of Brazil’s squad for the World Cup.

Andrey Santos’ wife asked Chelsea midfielder what’s happened to him after Tottenham goal
After the game, one of the first things that Santos did was check his phone, and he was greeted by quite a funny text message.
Not seeing him score too often this season, the Brazil international’s wife questioned what had happened to him!
In an interview with Chelsea’s official club website, Santos said: “I’m so happy with this performance. I even looked at my phone after the game, and my wife had sent me a message saying, ‘Wow, what’s happened with you today?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, but I’m so happy, and I want that to happen more times!'”

That was one of the best performances that Santos has put in during the current campaign, and not just because he scored. The 22-year-old’s display was a pretty complete one.
For example, according to Sofascore, he completed all 39 of his passes, giving him a 100% pass success rate. Santos also won all five of the tackles he attempted and six out of eight ground duels.
The former Vasco da Gama man would have been one Chelsea star sad to see Liam Rosenior go. Santos was a key player for Rosenior at Strasbourg, while it was the Englishman who gave him a real opportunity at Chelsea.
Santos will now get the chance to work with Xabi Alonso, who was named as the new manager of Chelsea last weekend, if he is not sold in the summer.
It is thought that Santos and Romeo Lavia are two players Chelsea are willing to offload, so there is a bit of doubt surrounding his future right now. If he stays, though, Santos does have something to offer to this team.
