Sir David Beckham found himself on the receiving end of some good-natured teasing from his son Romeo following Arsenal’s Premier League triumph, ending the club’s 22-year wait for the title.
Romeo, a vocal Arsenal supporter, had eagerly anticipated the victory. Ahead of the decisive match between Manchester City and Bournemouth, he posted a selfie on his Instagram stories with the caption "Come on boys win us the title".
Following the win, he shared a close-up of his hand over his face, exclaiming: "Oh my god we’ve done it. I love you Arsenal," with multiple heart emojis.
The teasing continued as Sir David, a celebrated former Manchester United player, shared a screenshot on Instagram of a video call with his middle son. He captioned it: "The moment Arsenal became champions and my son calls to remind me," adding a grinning emoji.

The north London club’s long-awaited success sparked widespread celebration among other famous fans. Actor Hugh Laurie took to X, writing: "Well, heck. The Arsenal. What an amazing achievement. BPM 150, dropping slowly."
Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah posted a picture on Instagram with an Arsenal mascot, declaring: "22 years… we did it!!!" Formula One star Sir Lewis Hamilton kept it brief on his Instagram story, simply writing "COYG," an abbreviation for "Come on you Gunners."
Presenter and journalist Piers Morgan also acknowledged the club’s lengthy wait on X/Twitter, stating: "5 times the bridesmaid. Tonight, finally, THE BRIDE. Congrats, chaps. So proud of you all for winning the toughest League in the world."
Singer Jess Glynne also celebrated the win on Instagram, exclaiming: "Come onnn Champions!!!!!"
MP and former Labour party leader, Jeremy Corbyn was one of the many fans who gathered outside the Emirates on Tuesday night. He wrote on X/Twitter: “Incredible scenes outside the Emirates. A moment I will never forget.”
Ian Wright, Arsenal’s second-highest goal scorer of all time and a former Premier League winner with the side, was among the fans outside the stadium, and was mobbed by fans singing his name outside the ground.
Wright told Premier League Productions: “I was absolutely over the moon. I got in the cab, got my Mrs and my girls in the cab and I said, 'We're going down there, let's go down to the Emirates.'"
“It's amazing, honestly, and this club deserves it. Our fans deserve it all, around the world and everybody, we deserve this, man.”
Arsenal’s players meanwhile gathered at the club’s training ground to watch the City game and see themselves confirmed champions for the 14th time without kicking a ball, with celebrations ensuing.
