“Now they’ve got that out of the way, I think they can go into the PSG game, freed up a little bit and give it a really good go.”
“I won’t be at all surprised to see them beat the French champions. So yeah, brilliant end to the season for them.”
Winning a title should give the team so much confidence
It is hard to overestimate how important securing a major trophy can be. It should instil a sense of belief in the squad that they can do anything.
Mikel Arteta’s side will be underdogs heading into the final in Budapest on May 30th, but they do have the tools to beat PSG.
Four-time Champions League winner Clarence Seedorf said last month that he can see the Gunners winning the competition due to their defence, and that will be a key asset when they face arguably Europe’s best attack.
Arsenal have 10 days to prepare
Of course, the Gunners do have one more league match to play, but it is now a dead rubber for the two teams, who will both be playing in European finals in the week following the fixture.
Crystal Palace will take on Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League in Leipzig next Wednesday, with Arsenal then playing their final just a few days later. Both clubs will surely rest the majority of their squad to prevent injury.
