Manchester City striker Erling Haaland disagrees with boss Pep Guardiola over how to assess the campaign after losing the Premier League title race to Arsenal. The Norway international wasted no time telling his colleagues they ought to be 'angry' while issuing a warning to the Gunners ahead of next term.
Mikel Arteta's side had the title sealed on Tuesday evening following City's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth. The final whistle triggered wild scenes at the Emirates Stadium, with festivities expected to roll on until the team lifts the silverware on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal have been embroiled in a battle with City over recent months, featuring several dramatic moments along the way. Having ended as runners-up in the previous three campaigns (twice behind City), it's finally Arsenal's moment to savour.
For City, they're left to contemplate the season, which might prove to be Guardiola's last in charge of the club. Addressing the media following the match, Guardiola insisted his squad should take pride in the commitment they showed during the battle with Arsenal.
"Congratulations to Arsenal, Mikel Arteta and his backroom staff and fans for this Premier League - it's well deserved," he said. "At the same time, during my managerial career, it was one of the years where we fought the most with incredible things that we could not control. We were always there and never gave up.
"I would have loved to arrive in the last moment to try even though it wasn't in our own hands. Today the fatigue was there, they had 12 days to prepare that game and they played for qualification for the Champions League with an extraordinary team and are incredibly well managed.
"Since January we were really good. We had a lot of injuries and many things that were out of our control.
"We learned a lot this season. What we have to do to win. We have to win a lot of points, we have to have an advantage otherwise there are circumstances that you cannot control.

"We played many, many moments with difficulty and never gave up. That is why we are here."
Haaland, however, took a markedly different view, making no attempt to conceal his frustration. "In the end, every game in the Premier League is difficult. We tried. It wasn't enough," the striker told City Studios.
"The whole Club should use this as motivation now. We should be angry, we should feel a fire inside our belly because it's not good enough. It's gone two years now, it feels like forever. We're going to do everything we can, everyone that will be here next season, to win the league."
His rallying cry will serve as a stark warning to Arsenal as both he and City begin to set their sights on wrestling back their title next season. Arsenal will also be eyeing further glory before the season draws to a close, with the Gunners set to feature in the Champions League final. They face Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, 30 May (5pm kick-off) at the Puskas Arena.
