How Joao Pedro’s World Cup snub has ruined BlueCo’s plans

Chelsea forward Joao Pedro received some devastating news earlier this week.

The 24-year-old was left out of Brazil’s squad for the World Cup alongside Chelsea teammates Andrey Santos and Estevao Willian.

Estevao is injured, while Pedro and Santos clearly did not do enough to convince Carlo Ancelotti. The latter was at least able to put that behind him on Tuesday night.

Santos scored in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur, leaving his wife surprised! As for Pedro, he missed the game because of a small injury.

After that Tottenham performance, does Andrey Santos make a Xabi Alonso first XI?🤔

What a performance, though 🤩

Despite not being called up for Brazil, Pedro has had a strong campaign and has attracted interest from Barcelona as a result.

Barcelona sporting director Deco has been working on a transfer and has received a boost following Pedro’s World Cup snub.

According to Sport, Chelsea were hoping to use the World Cup to increase Pedro’s value amid interest from the Catalan club. But Ancelotti has put a stop to that plan in a positive development for Barcelona.

It would now not be a surprise to see the La Liga outfit make a move for the Brazil international, as they are in desperate need of a new striker. Their main centre-forward Robert Lewandowski is leaving the Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Chelsea shouldn’t have been thinking about selling Joao Pedro in the first place

After the campaign Pedro has had, it is mad if Chelsea have considered selling Pedro at any point. Finding a reliable goalscorer is difficult; that is something that the Blues have come to discover in recent years.

Diego Costa left Stamford Bridge in 2017, and it is only now you can say that the club have found a striker who has matched his efficiency.

Even after the appointment of a high-calibre manager like Xabi Alonso, Chelsea fans are still not happy with BlueCo. Sell Pedro, and things could get really ugly.
