Erling Haaland sends Martin Odegaard title message

One of the key features in Arsenal and Manchester City’s title battles over recent years has been the individual dogfight between Erling Haaland and Gabriel Magalhaes. Haaland has tormented the Gunners on numerous occasions, but this year, Arsenal got the last laugh.

That said, there is seemingly no bad blood between the striker and his compatriot, Martin Odegaard. Speaking to Viaplay, Haaland congratulated his international skipper.

““Arsenal, when you get the most points, you deserve to win the league,” he said.

“Congrats to Martin Odegaard. It’s well-deserved. He deserves this trophy. It’ll be tough to see him lift the trophy, but it’s fantastic when a Norwegian wins the Premier League and lifts the Premier League trophy. Congrats to him. He deserves it.”

Alan Shearer names his Arsenal player of the year

There has been significant discourse around who has been Arsenal’s best player this season and who is the rightful winner of the player of the year award. Many have suggested that Declan Rice, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are the prime candidates, but Alan Shearer has gone with a different name.

“I think the three outstanding players for Arsenal would be, from back to front, David Raya, the goalkeeper, Gabriel and Declan Rice,” he is on The Rest is Football podcast.

“I just think those three players have been the outstanding players week after week, delivering performance after performance when it got tough.

“I think those three for most of the season have been the brilliant players, the outstanding players, the go-to players.

“I would actually have those three players in one, two and three probably. David Raya, Player of the Season for me.”
