Arsenal boss later left his family behind to hit the Mayfair dancefloor with his players

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta later joined his players for a night of celebrations after the club sealed their first Premier League title in 22 years on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal were officially crowned champions after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth, sparking wild scenes among players, staff and supporters connected to the club.

The squad initially gathered at Arsenal’s Sobha Realty Training Centre to watch City’s clash with Bournemouth together before celebrations erupted at full-time.

Videos from London Colney quickly spread across social media as Arsenal’s players danced, sang and sprayed champagne after finally ending the club’s long wait for another league title.

Sporting director Andrea Berta was lifted into the air by jubilant players while the squad belted out renditions of “We Are the Champions” and the 2010 World Cup anthem “Wavin’ Flag”.

Arteta had earlier revealed after Monday’s 1-0 win over Burnley that he intended to watch City’s match from home with his family.

The Spaniard is understood to have initially celebrated privately with his loved ones before later rejoining members of the squad in central London as the celebrations continued deep into the night.

Arsenal’s players eventually headed into Mayfair, where many gathered at Tape nightclub following the emotional scenes at the training ground.

Sources close to the celebrations suggested the atmosphere reflected the relief and joy of a squad that had finally delivered after several painful near misses in previous title races.

Arteta reportedly joined players and staff on the dancefloor as Arsenal celebrated a campaign that has transformed the club’s recent history.

Several players also embraced the chance to poke fun at critics who had doubted Arsenal during difficult moments earlier in the season.

Captain Martin Odegaard and others were seen jokingly drinking from Arsenal-branded water bottles, while Noni Madueke entertained teammates by grabbing the microphone during the celebrations.

The title party eventually continued into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber and Eberechi Eze later travelled to the Emirates Stadium around sunrise to witness the scenes around the ground for themselves.

Arsenal supporters had continued celebrating outside the stadium long after Bournemouth’s draw with City confirmed the title.

For Arteta, it marked the culmination of more than six years of rebuilding work since taking charge in 2019.

The Arsenal boss now has the chance to complete an even more remarkable season when the Gunners face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final later this month.
