Only one gameweek is left in the 2025/26 Premier League season. Arsenal have been crowned champions, while West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to battle it out in a desperate bid for survival on the final day of the season.
But who were the best players from the penultimate set of fixtures this campaign? Let’s take a look – we’ll be featuring players from clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
GK: Karl Darlow
Only two goalkeepers were able to keep clean sheets this gameweek. David Raya was one of them, who had little work to do against Burnley – Karl Darlow, on the other hand, put in an overtime shift against Brighton.
Leeds United were under threat of relegation for much of the season, but their 1-0 win over Brighton means they’ll finish on a minimum total of 47 points. Darlow, making seven saves against the Seagulls, played a huge part in this.
RB: Cristhian Mosquera
Cristhian Mosquera isn’t a natural right-back, generally preferring to play at centre-back, but one would not have guessed with his faultless display against Burnley.
The Clarets, for all their failings, came to have a go against Arsenal – nevertheless, Mosquera remained alert and made a number of strong tackles to keep them at bay.
CB: William Saliba
William Saliba has had a phenomenal season. This wasn’t his best display of the campaign by any means, but it was a perfect encapsulation of his display over the course of the year.
While Gabriel has stolen his share of the headlines, Saliba has arguably been the better defender of the two – he was rock-solid against Burnley on Monday evening.
CB: Joe Rodon
Could Joe Rodon secure a big-money move in the summer? Leeds haven’t been too clever at the back this season, but Rodon has remained largely consistent.
Brighton put the Whites under several spells of pressure, but Rodon was on hand to deal with everything that came his way.
