Tottenham backed to go all out for 23yo Real Madrid star in shock move, asking price around £50 …

Tottenham have been linked with a shock move for Real Madrid star.

Tottenham Hotspur faces a big rebuilding job after the underwhelming season they’ve endured. It is crucial that the club maintains its top-flight status if it hopes to attract top players in the summer.

Roberto De Zerbi has done a fantastic job since taking the reins of the North London club. He has simplified things, improved the team’s structure, lifted the players’ spirit and confidence levels and found ways to win games. Yet, the squad currently at the Italian’s disposal has many holes that require plugging.

It is evident that Tottenham require reinforcements in almost every area of the pitch to become competitive once again. The primary concern remains the central midfield position. There is an urgent need to recruit a midfielder who can seamlessly fit into Roberto de Zerbi’s system next term. The 46-year-old prefers midfielders who are technically strong, can operate in tight spaces, make quick and intelligent decisions, and move the ball swiftly.

Tottenham backed to make a move for Real Madrid star

Recent reports suggest Tottenham are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

Eduardo Camavinga has endured a disappointing season with Real Madrid, who are set to go trophyless under interim boss Alvaro Arbeloa. Los Blancos are open to the 23-year-old’s departure in the summer, valuing him in the region of £50 million. Having not been selected for the World Cup squad, the French international is seeking a new challenge away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Former scout Bryan King feels Camavinga would be a central part of De Zerbi’s side if he makes the move to Tottenham. He thinks the Frenchman is a quality player and has backed the North Londoners to go all out for his services.

“Tottenham have spent a lot of money in recent windows and have spent enough to be challenging at the top end of the Premier League,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.

“They have to first decide who is staying and who they’re going to sell. Before you can bring in players for big money, you have to guarantee them first-team football.

“He [Camavinga] would be a central part of the new team under De Zerbi. Tottenham have to rebuild their position in the Premier League, and he certainly is a player of quality.

“Real Madrid will be wanting £60million minimum, if not more.”

Tottenham must show ambition in the transfer market

If Tottenham are to become a competitive force under De Zerbi, they have to spend handsomely in the transfer market to bring in quality players.

Signing Camavinga would be a step in the right direction. Still only 23, Camavinga is widely regarded as a player with a high ceiling. While he has had a tough season in the Spanish capital, there is no denying the ex-Rennes man is a quality player with great pedigree and experience. Spurs are in clear need of a disciplined, tenacious and line-breaking midfielder capable of thriving in tight spaces and making quick decisions, and the French international fits that profile perfectly.

However, without European football next season, a move for Camavinga looks very difficult for the Lilywhites to pull off.
