5 Premier League Free Agents Ft. Ex-Man Utd&Man City Stars

The 2025/26 Premier League season is coming to an end, with several players also seeing their contracts expire at the end of the campaign.

While big-money signings often characterise the Premier League, some clubs also choose to strengthen their squads smartly by investing in free agents, allowing them to rebuild without breaking the bank.

With contracts running down across the league, some familiar names could soon be looking for new clubs. Here are five of the top Premier League free agents available this summer.

Marcos Senesi

The 28-year-old Bournemouth centre-back has established himself as one of the Cherries’ most trusted defenders since joining from Feyenoord in 2022.

The Argentine defender has made 38 appearances for Andoni Iraola’s side this season, providing five assists while helping the Cherries secure their highest-ever Premier League finish.

His resurgence in form has also seen him feature twice for Argentina this season, while also helping Bournemouth keep 11 clean sheets in the league campaign.According to reports from journalist David Ornstein, Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a move for the Argentine international.

Casemiro

The Brazilian international announced that he will be leaving Manchester United at the end of the season after joining the Red Devils from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.

A resurgence in form helped United secure a Champions League spot under Michael Carrick, as his nine goals and two assists in the league this season established him as one of United’s most trusted midfielders.

The midfielder, who has already said goodbye to the United faithful, will also represent Brazil at the World Cup after manager Carlo Ancelotti named him in his 26-man squad.

Kieran Trippier

The Newcastle United full-back has been one of the Magpies’ most efficient defenders over the years, providing quality defensively while also offering an immense attacking threat.

Since joining Newcastle from Atletico Madrid in January 2022, Trippier has become a trusted figure within the squad, playing a huge role in helping the Geordies win the Carabao Cup and end a 70-year domestic trophy drought.

According to a report from The Sun, the former England international is in talks with relegated side Wolverhampton Wanderers over a free move to the club.

Daichi Kamada

The Japanese international reunited with manager Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 and is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. Kamada also became the first Japanese player to feature for the club.

The midfielder has featured 44 times in all competitions this season, contributing one goal and four assists for the Eagles.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder has also proven his versatility for Glasner this season, often featuring in both attacking and defensive midfield roles.

Kamada, who will represent the Japanese national team at the World Cup, was also part of the Palace squad that secured the 2024/25 FA Cup, etching his name into the club’s history.

The midfielder is yet to sign a new contract as his current deal expires at the end of the season, and he will be hoping to help Palace finish strongly when they take on Rayo Vallecano in the UEFA Conference League final.

Bernardo Silva

When the history of Manchester City’s golden era is written, Bernardo Silva’s name will be written near the top. Nevertheless, he announced that he will be leaving the Etihad after a trophy-laden nine-year spell with the club.

The Portuguese international has made over 290 appearances for the Cityzens since joining the club, while also recording the most Premier League appearances by a Portuguese player.

The midfielder has been linked with several clubs this season, including the MLS, Saudi Pro League, and top European clubs.

Despite losing out on the Premier League title to Arsenal this season, Silva captained Pep Guardiola’s side to a domestic double after winning both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

There is no doubt that several top European clubs will be vying for his signature next season, as his quality in midfield cannot be understated.

While these players’ careers at their respective clubs are coming to an end, it is expected that footballers of their quality will attract major interest once the transfer window officially opens.

Securing their next move will be a priority for some of these players, while others will also have one eye on representing their countries at the World Cup.
