Transfer interest from Chelsea has forced Bernardo Silva into a period of reflection, with the midfielder currently presented with many options ahead of free agency.
Bernardo Silva has officially confirmed he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, bringing a glittering, trophy-laden nine-year tenure at the Etihad to a close.
Understandably, his departure has put some of the world’s best clubs on high alert, with Chelsea emerging as a surprise suitor looking to secure his services on a free transfer.
Chelsea’s strong relationship with his agent, Jorge Mendes, offers the Blues an interesting advantage in the race alongside continental giants like Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
This comes after interest in Silva that dates back to 2024.

Bernardo Silva to pick the club that suits him and his family best
According to reliable reporter Matte Moretto, who shared an article from Marca, Bernardo will decide on his future as a matter of sporting project, but also his personal life after interest from Chelsea.
This leaves Chelsea in a difficult position. On paper, securing a world-class midfielder of Silva’s calibre on a free transfer is a no-brainer, with the Blues desperate to inject that winning experience into their young squad.
However, the player’s desire to move closer to his family heavily favours continental suitors like Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
Especially when you consider the fact that Chelsea can’t offer Champions League football for next season.

Bernardo Silva’s farewell message at Manchester City
Bernardo Silva penned a heartfelt message upon his departure from Manchester City, but he’s been tight-lipped on what his next move may be.
“This city and this club gave me much more than that, much more than I ever hoped for, what we won and achieved together is a legacy that will forever be cherished in my heart.
“The Centurions, the domestic quadruple, the Treble, the Four In A Row and much more… It wasn’t that bad.
“In a few months, it’s time to say goodbye to the city where not only we won so much as a football club, but also where I started my marriage and my family – from the bottom of my heart, Ines and Carlota, thank you!”
