Brazilian forward Joao Pedro has spoken up about Brazil World Cup squad. The Chelsea man has opened up about Carlo Ancelotti’s selection. Though he has not been selected, he is still positive about Brazil’s World Cup hopes.
Joao Pedro will miss the World Cup 2026 with Brazil
On 18th May, everybody was looking at Brazil national team coach, Carlo Ancelotti’s press conference. The Italian coach has announced his selected names for the upcoming World Cup. Brazil has got some superstar names in this squad who will be representing the Selecaos at the world stage. But, some player choices have been really surprising.
The strangest was the exclusion of Joao Pedro from the list of names. He has been phenomenal throughout the season for the Blues. The striker has been announced as Chelsea’s player of the season, as per Chelsea’s official website. The Selecao forward has been the most in form player in the whole squad. He has scored on numerous important occasions to get some crucial points. Being the player of the season for his club and not getting called for the World Cup in that season is quite questionable. People in the football world have questioned Ancelotti’s choice.
Some other names such as Alex Sandro, Gabriel Martinelli have raised concerns. Players like Pedro, Antony and Thiago Silva were not in the squad list. These players have been consistent throughout the season for their respective clubs.
