Germany have officially announced their 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Julian Nagelsmann will be looking to take his nation all the way as they aim to be crowned world champions for a record-equalling fifth time in history, having previously won the tournament in 1954, 1974, 1990, and 2014.
But after disappointing in 2022 in Qatar, where they crashed out of the group stages following defeat to Japan and a draw with Spain, they will be coming into this competition with big expectations. This time around, Germany will take on Ivory Coast (June 20), Ecuador (June 25), and minnows Curacao (June 14) in the group stages.
Nagelsmann's side are among the favorites to go all the way this summer, and it's easy to see why when you look at their confirmed squad.

Bayern Munich legend Manuel Neuer has come out of international retirement to take part in the World Cup with Germany, and he is expected to be the number one for Nagelsmann's side.
Hoffenheim captain Oliver Baumann has been included as the number two goalkeeper, despite having been Germany's number one since Neuer retired back in August 2024, while the third choice is Alexander Nubel of VFB Stuttgart.
That means there is no space in the squad for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who has spent the second half of the season on loan at Girona from Barcelona after recovering from a back injury.

Nico Schlotterbeck celebrating after scoring for Borussia Dortmund
Germany have always been well known for their strong defensive units, and they will continue to lean on that in this tournament after Nagelsmann called up a number of experienced options.
Borussia Dortmund's Nico Schlotterbeck and Bayern Munich star Jonathan Tah will be the leaders of the back line, while young full-back Nathaniel Brown will be among the players making their first appearance at a major tournament for Die Mannschaft.
Veteran defender Antonio Rudiger is also named despite an injury-hit season at Real Madrid, while David Raum receives a call-up at left-back.

Nagelsmann's side will be led out at the World Cup by captain Joshua Kimmich, in a team stacked with leaders and experienced options.
The Bayern Munich star will be one of the first names on the team sheet after yet another exceptional season in the Bundesliga, where he claimed his 10th Bundesliga title in Vincent Kompany's side. His club teammate Leon Goretzka is also in the squad, despite struggling for game time at the Allianz Arena this season.
In a more advanced role, both Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz have had difficult individual campaigns at Bayern and Liverpool respectively, but both have been named in the squad by the manager and are likely to have a key role in the side.
25-year-old winger Jamie Leweling is also in the squad following an excellent season with Stuttgart. Bayern Munich teenage sensation Lennart Karl has also earned a call-up after his breakthrough campaign. There is no place in the squad for Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, however, despite scoring ten goals and registering eight assists this season.
