Goals were difficult to come by for Arsenal U18s this season, with the team scoring 46 times in total.
In contrast, southern section winners Chelsea found the net on 88 occasions and Arsenal will be looking to improve significantly in that regard next season.
As things stand it isn’t clear who the first-choice striker will be for the U18s in 2026/27.
Ceadach O’Neill and Louis Zecevic John both made significant contributions this campaign but will no longer be eligible for the U18s next season as they will be classed as U21 players on a full-time basis.
Marley Frohock will be a second year scholar but despite scoring prolifically for younger age groups the forward was only given nine league appearances for the U18s this season.
One potential solution could be to give Jaden Maghoma an opportunity to impress.
The striker has yet to make his U18s debut but has already featured at U19 level having made his UEFA Youth League debut against Club Brugge.
Maghoma will still technically be a schoolboy next season but the 15-year-old could impress for the U18s if he is given the chance to do so.
An England U16 international, Maghoma suits Arsenal’s style very well as he is capable of dropping deep to link up play, while he is also quick and has good technical ability.
If Maghoma features prominently for the U18s next season then it could go some way towards addressing the goalscoring issue at that level.
