Arsenal will have the opportunity to strengthen their squad as reigning Premier League champions in the summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta’s side clinched the title and ended the club’s 22-year wait after Manchester City dropped points on Tuesday night.
It means little will be riding on the Gunners’ upcoming game away at Crystal Palace on Sunday as both teams prepare for European finals next week. Arsenal have a chance to complete a remarkable double and lift the Champions League trophy for the first time in their history against Paris Saint-Germain.
While Arteta is focused on getting the most out of his squad, plans will be formulated over how to improve the team this summer. Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium after his breakthrough season with the Cherries.
Eli Junior Kroupi update
Arsenal are reportedly interested in Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi but the Bournemouth star is not for sale. The teenager has already earned a place in the Gunners’ hearts by scoring against City on Tuesday, which ultimately gave Arsenal the Premier League title.
The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal are among the clubs “tracking” the 19-year-old. Chelsea are also claimed to be monitoring Kroupi ahead of the summer window.
However, the report states Bournemouth have insisted that the France U21 international is not for sale. The Cherries have no intention of cashing in on one of their star assets as manager Andoni Iraola prepares to leave the club.
Kroupi has scored 13 in 32 Premier League appearances, averaging a goal every 124 minutes this season. Bournemouth could potentially qualify for the Champions League in their final match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Target prepares for farewell
Sporting CP captain Morten Hjulmand is widely expected to play his last match for the club on Sunday. The Denmark international is preparing to face Torreense in the Taca de Portugal final.
Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha reports that Hjulmand “wants to say goodbye” by lifting the trophy this weekend. The publication has previously described Arsenal as “leading the race” for his signature, alongside Manchester United.

The defensive midfielder’s contract includes a £69million release clause but he is expected to leave for around half of that amount, with Sporting already working on finding his replacement. Atletico Madrid and Manchester City are also claimed to be interested in the 26-year-old.
Hjulmand joined Sporting from Lecce in 2023, becoming captain the following year. The Dane has won two Primeira Liga titles and one Taca de Portugal during his time at the club as he looks to add another major honour to his collection.
