Arsenal eye stunning double transfer raid as Leeds United 'interested' in £25m-rated Liverpool…

The latest Premier League transfer news involving Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and more

We’re just a few days away from the 2025/26 Premier League season concluding, and while Arsenal have wrapped up the league title with a game to spare, there’s still plenty to be decided elsewhere. The relegation battle will be the area of greatest interest on Sunday afternoon, while the race for Europe is still very much alive for a number of teams.

We begin today’s rumour round-up in north London, where Arsenal are livin' la vida loca, while Tottenham are cowering in the corner, counting down the hours until their potential relegation on Sunday afternoon. The Gunners look set to spend big this summer, and Caught Offside reckon they know who their top two targets will be.

Bournemouth star Junior Kroupi - who scored the goal that helped seal Arsenal’s title win earlier in the week - and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez are tipped as the desired pair in question, with the report indicating that the Gunners are eager to sharpen their attack ahead of defending their league, and potential Champions League, title next season.

The 3AM Verdict: The report gives no detail on Arsenal’s interest beyond naming the two players. They’ve both been linked before, however, with Alvarez in particular an established long-term target. Both players possess a serious amount of talent, and with the Gunners likely to have the cash ready to blow, they’d do well to snap up both attackers swiftly.

Bayern Munich could derail Man United’s transfer plans

To Old Trafford next, where Manchester United are pinching themselves after turning around what looked set to be another dire season and somehow ending up qualifying for next season’s Champions League. They’ll be going big in the summer transfer window too, and one of their primary targets is thought to be Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall.

Team Talk bring some unwelcome news, however, with a report speculating that Bundesliga big dogs Bayern Munich are ready to wreck their transfer plans and sign the ex-Chelsea defender themselves. The story says that Bayern are “show particularly strong interest” in the England international, but that Newcastle’s ‘not for sale’ stance remains firm.

The 3AM Verdict: We coveredBayern’s apparent interest in Hall earlier this month, as well as fellow Magpies Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento. Despite a recent renaissance, United’s Luke Shaw isn’t getting any younger, and Hall would be an excellent homegrown addition to replace him. An offer north of £50m might just convince Newcastle to sell, and the Red Devils should put their efforts into beating Bayern to his signature.

Leeds United ‘interested’ in Liverpool gem

We’ll round things off at Elland Road, where Leeds United are basking in the glory of avoiding relegation back down to the Championship. Now, an intriguing story from Football Insider leads with the suggestion that Coventry City are a “potential destination” for Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott - stick with us, we’ll do our best to explain.

It then transpires that said alleged Sky Blues interest is merely the postulation of a former Man City financial advisor they were interviewing, who suggested that “maybe a promoted club” - not even Coventry specifically - could sign the England international this summer, valuing him at around £25m. The report then rapidly shifts gears, claiming that it is in fact Leeds that want to sign him.

The 3AM Verdict: This story is even messier than Elliott’s current loan move to Aston Villa, which has seen him barely play due to the Europa League champions’ unwillingness to trigger the obligation-to-buy clause in the deal. We’re off for a lie down in a darkened room after sifting through that heap of muck - we suggest you do the same.
