Everton and Bournemouth have ‘concrete interest’ in signing – Cherries already made offer

Everton and AFC Bournemouth are keen on bringing VfB Stuttgart star Jamie Leweling to the Premier League in the summer.

The winger joined the Bundesliga side on loan from 1. FC Union Berlin in July 2023 and made his stay permanent a year later.

He starred for Stuttgart this season, attracting attention from Everton, Bournemouth and other clubs.

The Germany international scored 11 goals and contributed 12 assists from 3,447 minutes from 49 matches.

His Bundesliga stats are as follows:

Appearances: 32

Starts: 26

Total minutes: 2,375

Goals: 7

Assists: 9

Expected Goals: 4.32

Expected Assists: 5.22

These statistics indicate the attacker has over-performed this season.

Everton and Bournemouth face Roma battle

Sky Deutschland states David Moyes’ side and the Cherries are looking to strengthen their attack with Jamie Leweling.

In addition to the Premier League duo, AS Roma are also in the picture. The report claims these clubs have ‘concrete interest’ in the 25-year-old.

AFC Bournemouth tried to sign him in the winter market and made a €40m bid, turned down by VfB Stuttgart. Last August, the player insinuated he wasn’t worried the German club rejected Nottingham Forest’s offer.

Everton and the Serie A side now join the Cherries, and these three clubs would be hoping to secure his services.

The Bundesliga side seem to be ready to do business in the upcoming window for a ‘top offer’ of over €50m.

It’s unclear whether Bournemouth intend to return with a higher offer. There’s also no clarity of Everton or Roma meeting or at least getting closer towards Stuttgart’s price.

Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann has included Leweling in his squad for the World Cup. If he were to impress in America and Mexico, his asking price could rise further.

Our take: Stuttgart have upper hand

Jamie Leweling has a contract until 2029, and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €40m.

German agency AGM, managed by Mourad Amami, take care of the VfB Stuttgart player’s interest and future.

With three years on his contract, the Bundesliga side are in a comfortable position to ask for €50m for a player who has starred this season. The Premier League duo would have to invest close to their request to sign him in the summer.
