Days after it emerged that Stephan Nopp, the analyst in Hansi Flick’s staff at FC Barcelona, will be leaving, another staff member’s departure has now been confirmed.
Indeed, former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, who had become a key part of Flick’s backroom team, has informed the players that he will be leaving at the end of the season, according to Jijantes FC.
Thiago says goodbye
In fact, Thiago was seen saying his goodbyes to the Barcelona squad and wishing them well for what lies ahead during the training session today, ahead of the team’s final game of the season against Valencia.

The former La Masia graduate had been a part of the coaching staff under Flick briefly upon his arrival in the summer 2024, but had to leave after a couple of months.
At the request of the German tactician, Thiago was brought back as an assistant coach last year in November.
Thiago’s role was focused specifically on tactical work with the midfield players and the preparation of training sessions.

His deep understanding of positional play, as well as the fact that he is well-versed with Barcelona and Flick’s ways, and his experience at the highest level have made him a valuable addition.
Thiago moves on
However, Thiago has now decided to say goodbye to Barcelona as a staff member in order to focus on personal matters.
In addition, he will also focus on his new role as a board member at his hometown club CE L’Hospitalet, co-owned by Barcelona legend Jordi Alba.
