Arsenal star considered a new club legend by many fans.
Leandro Trossard has gone about his business quietly since joining Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023.
However, the Belgian has had a knack of stepping up to the plate from day one at the club, as was exemplified by the versatile forward’s recent late goal in the Gunners’ 1-0 win against West Ham United.
While even against Burnley, Trossard looked the part in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory a day before they were crowned Premier League champions.
Arteta felt it was time to win trophies for his side and as they have finally won the title, Trossard was quizzed about which one of his teammates has been the unsung hero this season.
Leandro Trossard names David Raya as Arsenal’s unsung hero this season
Trossard has praised Declan Rice’s leadership and incredible quality as a player but the England international has widely been recognised as one of Arsenal’s most important players this term.
The same applies to Gabriel Magalhaes, who has been brilliant for years and is considered by many as one of the best centre-backs in world football.
According to Trossard, it is David Raya who has been Arsenal’s unsung hero in their title-winning campaign.

The £27 million (Sky Sports) man told Arsenal’s official in-house media: “David needs a lot of credit.”
David Raya is an Arsenal legend
While Trossard certainly makes a fair point about his teammate deserving plenty of praise, several Arsenal fans have crowned Raya as a legend. Raya has arguably been Arsenal’s best player in a season where they have ended a 22-year-long wait to become the champions of England.
The goalkeeper’s outstanding shotstopping ability, calmness on the ball, commanding presence in the box and excellent throws have made him an indispensable figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans.
If Raya manages to win the Champions League as well this season, it seems unlikely he will go under the radar going forward.
