Calum McFarlane has provided an injury update ahead of Chelsea's clash against Sunderland. The Blues look set to welcome a couple of big names back to the matchday squad when they face Régis Le Bris' side at the Stadium of Light on Sunday afternoon.
football.london understands that Joao Pedro suffered a knock ahead of Chelsea's win over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night. The Blues striker was one of three players to be left out at Stamford Bridge, with Malo Gusto and Levi Colwill also missing out.
Speaking to reporters at Cobham on Friday afternoon, the interim Blues boss confirmed that Joao Pedro and Levi Colwill trained ahead of the trip up north. McFarlane said: "They both trained today. Both promising, and we're hopeful they'll be fit for Sunday. No other updates."
