Josh Acheampong is reportedly open to exploring his options in the transfer market if he feels as if he will not get regular game time under Xabi Alonso at Chelsea.
Alonso gets to work at Stamford Bridge on July 1, and will have a long pre-season to get to know the squad and who he wants to keep.
While the incoming boss knows the likes of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro are untouchable, it won’t be until he works with the players to see who else he wants to complete his squad.

Josh Acheampong concerned about minutes under Xabi Alonso
One player who has not had too many opportunities of late is Josh Acheampong, despite showing great promise in the early stages of his career at Stamford Bridge.
Ben Jacobs has stated that Manchester United have been keeping an eye on the young defender ahead of the summer transfer window.

He told The United Stand that while Chelsea want to keep him, Acheampong is prepared to explore his options if he won’t get his desired game time under Alonso.
He said: “Josh Acheampong, who Chelsea have always said is just not for sale, and I’m led to believe that’s a genuine stance.
“But Acheampong, who’s also on the radar of Manchester City, is gonna have to understand heading into the new season under a new manager how often he is gonna play, because Chelsea are looking to sign another new starting centre-back.
“Chelsea’s perspective was that he was pretty untouchable, but my information is that the player would be interested in exploring options if he feels he’s not going to get quite regular game time next season.”

Top European sides all keen on Acheampong
It seems as if all of Europe’s top clubs are aware of Acheampong’s talents, which makes it all the more baffling that he doesn’t get more opportunities at Chelsea.
Bayern Munich continue to discuss signing Acheampong, with Real Madrid and City also mentioned as candidates.
Alonso’s previous preference to play with a three at the back could be a boost for the Englishman, with his experience playing at both centre-back and full-back.
Despite a start against Tottenham, it feels unlikely he will retain his place for the trip to Sunderland on Sunday, with Reece James expected to return.
