Several FC Barcelona players have already got their call-ups for the upcoming World Cup from their respective national teams, while others are still waiting for the final lists to be published.
As a result, some players are still hopeful of getting their ticket to the World Cup, [and one such player is the Blaugrana midfielder Marc Bernal](https://semprebarca.com/up-to-11-barcelona-players-in-contention-for-spains-world-cup-squad/), who is in the running to get a spot in the Spanish national team for the World Cup, which is set to be announced this Monday.
Meanwhile, as [SPORT](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/marc-bernal-le-debo-vida-flic-barcelona-130518205) has reported, the Spaniard appeared in an interview with Catalunya Radio and made it clear that he still believes he can make the final squad for the tournament:
**“Of course I’d like to go. Representing your country is the greatest thing for a footballer, and I still haven’t ruled myself out.”**
In fact, Bernal admitted that he is not even making plans for the summer yet while waiting for the final squad announcement from the Spanish national team coach:
**“For now, I’m not making any plans for the summer until the final list comes out this Monday.”**
Bernal also took the opportunity to once again thank Flick for the faith that the German coach has shown in him since the very beginning of his Barcelona journey:
**“I owe him my life. He trusted me when I was only 17 years old, and I will always be grateful to him.”**
Talking about Barcelona’s season overall, the 18-year-old midfielder admitted that the team is satisfied with what it achieved, although the Champions League elimination still remains a disappointment:
**“We are happy. The Champions League slipped away from us because of small details in a very high-level tie (against Atletico Madrid), but next year we will aim for more.”**
Hopefully, Marc Bernal will get the call-up for the World Cup, which would undoubtedly be a great learning experience for him, and also one of the major milestones in his career.
