There’s no such thing as an easy season for Reece James, whose body is always challenging him. But this year he played more minutes than in any season since 2020-2021, and we’re expecting him to close out the campaign with another start tomorrow.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the captain gave some thoughts on his personal growth this season.
Reece James on his season highlights and being written off
“This season, I’ve grown a lot. I’ve been out there with the team, and I find it much easier when I’m fit and healthy,” James said.
“I think that was one of the highlights. A lot of people wrote me off. I’ve come back this season, and I’ve played a decent number of games.”
It’s no coincidence that the collapse in form that saw us tumble down the table and saw Liam Rosenior sacked coincided perfectly with James’ recent hamstring problem.
One person who didn’t write him off was Thomas Tuchel, who has selected him for this summer’s World Cup. We can’t wait to see him out there.
