**Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has been labelled as “simply a global superstar” for the career he’s enjoying, including a Premier League title at the Emirates.**
[Voetbal Nieuws reports comments](https://www.voetbalnieuws.be/news/903394/boskamp-looft-onderschatte-rode-duivel-wereldster) from Belgian icon Johan Boskamp today. He’s full of praise for the Arsenal forward in Het Beland van Limburg.
Key role at Arsenal
-------------------
Leandro Trossard has again played a key role for Arsenal this season as they’ve secured their first Premier League title in 22 years.
The 31-year-old has been a regular for Mikel Arteta’s side. He’s managed 31 appearances in the Premier League and six goals and six assists to his name. That’s seen him feature in 60% over the overall minutes.
He’s also been a contributor in the Champions League, with one goal and four assists in 10 games in the competition as Arsenal have reached the final.
The Belgian has enjoyed something of an unrecognised role at Arsenal since a €24m move from Brighton in 2023. Since then, he’s managed 36 goals and 33 assists in 17 games for the Gunners.
Lack of Belgium recognition
---------------------------
Despite that, he’s yet to be really recognised back in Belgium, where he continues to fly under the radar. And it seems that Boskamp wants to change that narrative.
“That goal against West Ham might just have won them the title. In Belgium, he isn’t always appreciated at his true value. But that lad is having a fantastic career,” he said.
“And to think that, just ten years ago, he was sometimes sitting on the bench at OH Leuven. If you can then help one of the biggest clubs on the planet become champions for the first time in twenty years, you are simply a global superstar.”
The question is whether anyone listens to Boskamp moving forwards. Or does Trossard need to impress at the World Cup this summer with Belgium, before the recognition finally starts to come his way?
