The final Premier League game of the season is upon us as Chelsea are preparing to take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The Blues are looking to secure a place in the Europa League. They will, however, also need other results to go their way.
The Chelsea hierarchy have already been busy preparing for the new season, with Calum McFarlane taking charge of his final game in interim charge. He will be replaced by Xabi Alonso in July.
The new manager is expected to have a big say on the upcoming transfer, with the season coming to a close, speculation over possible comings and goings is expected to ramp up over the next few weeks.

Thiago Silva return
Chelsea have offered Thiago Silva a return to Stamford Bridge in a coaching capacity once he retires from playing, according to ESPN Brazil .
The report says that Porto want Silva to remain for another season, but the defender has made the decision to become a free agent and assess his options.
One option is said to be to rejoin Chelsea as a coach, firstly starting in the academy and then gradually progressing through the structure. Silva holds a UEFA B licence and is finalising his A licence before moving on to the pro licence.
FL says: The club continue to have a good relationship with Silva, so it’s no surprise that he is being linked with a return to Stamford Bridge. If he can build up his coaching experience with Chelsea, then it benefits all parties involved.
Whether the defender takes up the offer this summer is still to be seen. He may want to continue playing, if so, a move back to Chelsea may not be on the cards for at least another year.

Chelsea could be beaten by secret weapon
Chelsea could be beaten by Manchester United in the transfer race for West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
TEAMtalk report that Chelsea are in the race along with Manchester United and Arsenal. But it’s United who are leading the race.
United have a secret weapon in their head of scouting, Kyle Macauley, who was the recruitment chief who took Fernandes from Southampton to West Ham. It’s said that Fernandes will cost around £80 million if West Ham avoid relegation in the final game of the season, but the price will drop dramatically should they be relegated.

FL says: Chelsea are pretty well stocked in midfield with Enzo Fernandes, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia supported by the likes of Dario Essugo and Andrey Santos. It feels like Fernandes might not be a priority signing.
However, if he is available at a good price, then Chelsea would be silly to not have a look at the possibility. United’s connections through Macauley and their need for midfield reinforcements could make them come up against this summer, especially with them now able to offer Champions League football.
