Just three players from the Europa League final XI stay in the team.
Boss Unai Emery has made wholesale changes to Villa’s team for Sunday’s Premier League finale at Manchester City.
Villa arrive at the Etihad Stadium to complete one of their best campaigns in recent history which has seen them secure a Champions League return and end the club’s 30-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League.
Last Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Freiburg in Istanbul sparked wild celebrations among supporters and players, with Emery conceding on Friday it would not be “easy” to prepare for what is essentially a dead rubber against City.
Villa’s squad did not return to training until Saturday, with Emery delaying picking his squad until later that day.
Unsurprisingly, the manager has made a number of changes with only three players who started in Turkey keeping their place.
Victor Lindelof, Ollie Watkins and Emi Buendia are the trio, with Andres Garcia and Douglas Luiz among those coming into the line-up.
Emery has also left Morgan Rogers out of the squad completely. The 23-year-old was the only player to start every Premier League match this season but has been given a well-deserved rest, ahead of linking up with England for the World Cup.
