It’s full time at the Stadium of Light and Chelsea have lost 2-1 to Sunderland, a defeat that means they finish in 10th place in the Premier League and will miss out on European football of all descriptions next season.
The players did a half hearted apology slash farewell to the travelling fans. The two players who put the most effort in were Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez, two players who are heavily linked with departures from the club. That has led some to conclude that they were actually saying their goodbyes.

It’s certainly not conclusive – we see more apologising than waving in there – but we suppose they wouldn’t yet be certain they’re going yet either.
It’s certainly going to be a fascinating summer with so many moving parts in play. This is just the start of the speculation.

In other news…
The Blues will not be playing in Europe next season after finishing in tenth place – not that some of these players are worried about what’s happening at Chelsea in the future.
Chelsea did get a goal back through Cole Palmer, but the red card which followed soon after meant it was too little, too late.
