Chelsea interim manager Calum McFarlane has just taken his final post-match press conference in charge of the Blues.
It clocked in at about four minutes, unsurprising given there’s simply not much to say at this point.
McFarlane makes big claims about Chelsea players’ motivation
“Given the talent we have, we should be in the Champions League. We haven’t been. We’ve been too inconsistent,” the interim coach said.
“The feeling in the dressing room is of disappointment… we didn’t get the result or the performance. The message to the fans is that we’re as disappointed as they are.”
We wish we could believe that. But when you see the player put in as little effort as they did today, you can only conclude that they don’t care nearly as much as fans do.
This season is finally over, but the damage it has done in the relationship between fans and the players, and fans and the ownership, will take a long time to heal.

In other news…
Two Chelsea players seemed like they were waving to the fans at the end of the game today – and we wouldn’t be surprised if they leave.
The Blues will not be playing in Europe next season after finishing in tenth place – not that some of these players are worried about what’s happening at Chelsea in the future.
