A number of Premier League clubs have demonstrated long-term thinking ahead of the summer. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are amongst those to have secured deals for new signings before the transfer window opens.

The Gunners are recruiting from a position of strength as the Premier League champions and could still claim the Champions League trophy for the first time in their history. Manager Mikel Arteta has leaned on squad depth to bring Arsenal's 22-year wait for the league title to an end, but he will be determined to strengthen his team to stop their rivals from narrowing the gap.

Liverpool grabbed headlines with eye-catching deals last summer but fell short of mounting a serious title defence. The Reds will be hopeful that those stars can combine more effectively next season as the club concentrates on returning to those previous heights through smart recruitment.

Meanwhile, United will need to bolster squad depth to support their Champions League campaign. Michael Carrick will be anxious to bring in the right players and maintain his momentum in the Old Trafford dugout. Here's a look at the new signings the three clubs already anticipate welcoming in the summer.

Arsenal

Arsenal confirmed the signing of teenage prospect Daniel McCarron in February. The 16-year-old is set to join the club's academy this summer upon his arrival from Northern Irish club Dungannon Swifts.

The promising centre-back impressed the Gunners during a trial spell. McCarron represents Northern Ireland at U17 level and made his senior debut for Dungannon Swifts in April.

An Arsenal club statement said: "We have reached an agreement for young defender Daniel McCarron to join us from Northern Irish side Dungannon Swifts, as part of our 2026/27 scholar intake. The player has also signed a pre-contract agreement that will lead to him signing professional terms with us."

The Gunners are also anticipated to make Piero Hincapie's loan from Bayer Leverkusen permanent, though that has yet to be finalised.

Liverpool

The former Premier League champions are poised to welcome a significant new signing in the summer. Jeremy Jacquet agreed a £60m switch to Anfield in February, with the defender remaining with French side Rennes for the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old centre-back subsequently sustained an unfortunate shoulder injury, which ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign, but he will back himself to establish himself as first-choice at Liverpool. However, he is not the sole defensive addition that the club have secured.

Austria Wien prospect Ifeanyi Ndukwe, who turned 18 in March, will also arrive at the Reds this summer. The Austria U19 international has been a fixture for Austria Wien's reserve team and made his senior debut in a brief appearance earlier this month.

Manchester United

United secured a preliminary deal to sign Fortaleza CEIF talent Cristian Orozco earlier this season. The Colombian youngster is a highly regarded defensive midfielder who is set to join United's academy setup this summer.

Orozco will be unable to complete his switch to Old Trafford until after he turns 18 in July. United have agreed a fee of approximately £750,000 for the teenager, identifying the Colombia U17 international as a promising long-term investment.
