Chelsea won’t even accept‘world-record’bid for key player this summer

Some of Chelsea’s top players are attracting interest from big clubs, and it would not be a surprise if they pushed for moves.

The Blues have had a horrific season, finishing 10th in the Premier League and losing to Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

However, it does not look like one of their players will be going anywhere despite strong interest in him.

Chelsea won’t sell Joao Pedro for any price

It has been widely reported that Barcelona want to sign Joao Pedro in the upcoming transfer window.

While Chelsea have been poor this term, the forward has impressed. He finished the campaign as the team’s top scorer with 20 goals in 50 appearances.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed on X, though, that not even a “world-record” offer could tempt Chelsea into selling Pedro this summer.

Despite his stunning form, Pedro was still left out by Brazil for the World Cup. His Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer will not be going to the tournament either after being snubbed by Thomas Tuchel.

Unlike Pedro, Palmer has underperformed this season and will now hopefully use the summer to rebuild.

Chelsea need to keep hold of Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez

Enzo Fernandez is another Chelsea star who is being linked with an exit. Fernandez’s desire is to continue playing in the Champions League, but if he stays at Chelsea, that will not happen next season.

From the club’s point of view, though, they really need to keep hold of both South American players, who were their two top scorers this campaign.

There is just no way that Chelsea are going to replace a reliable No.9 like Pedro and a goalscoring midfielder like Fernandez in the same transfer window. It is going to be impossible.

Xabi Alonso may want Fernandez gone and any other player who is not committed to the club. But if not, Chelsea cannot sell the Argentine or Pedro no matter what.
