Liverpool have held “concrete talks” about signing Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
Posting on his X account, Plettenberg said that the “wonderkid” is “planning to leave” his current team this summer.
Eichhorn has a release clause of around €10m (£8.6m) to €12m (£10.3m) in his contract, which is a very small sum for a player of his potential, so the sharks have begun to circle.

Other Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle, have been linked with the teenager, but it appears the Reds are now pushing the hardest to secure his signature.
What do fans need to know about Eichhorn?
The German Under-17 international came through the youth ranks at Hertha, and he was only given his first-team debut last August.
Eichhorn made his first appearance as a substitute against Karlsruhe during a 0-0 draw, and he has subsequently gone on to play 19 games in Bundesliga 2 and the Deutsche Pokal.
The youngster scored his first goal in the last 16 of the latter tournament back in December against Kaiserslautern, before bagging his first in the league against Greuther Furth earlier this month.
Eichhorn is a holding midfielder by trade, and he has captained his country at youth level.
He would not join Liverpool straight away
Work permit rules mean that Eichhorn would not be able to officially join the Merseyside club until the age of 18. He will turn 17 in July, meaning fans would not see him in a Reds shirt until the summer of 2027 if he decides to make the switch to Anfield.
It is not clear whether a pre-agreement could be secured with Hertha, which would keep him in Germany until next year, or whether another arrangement could be reached.
