The Red Devils are keen to bolster their midfield with Casemiro leaving the club once his contract expires next month. However, the red half of Manchester already appear to have alternatives to Anderson, who has been described as 'jaw-dropping'.
Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali is a potential target, with reports in recent days claiming there is a 'good chance' of the Red Devils signing the Italian international.
It has also been reported that United are close to an agreement to sign Ederson from Atalanta. Meanwhile, Real Madrid star Aurélien Tchouaméni has been described as a dream target for the Red Devils.
Anderson's move to City has the potential to trigger a domino effect that could see United swoop for Tchouaméni.
If a deal is done for Anderson, City could be more open to allowing Rodri to move to Real Madrid which could in turn see the Spanish giants allow Tchouaméni to depart.
