Chelsea’s worst Premier League season in three years has come to an end, although despite their 10th-place they have still earned big money from the domestic league.
The Blues still had a chance of qualifying for Europe on the final day of the season, however were defeated by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
It had been well-known Chelsea were going to miss out on the Champions League payday this season, as well as the attractive element that comes with for new players joining them with Xabi Alonso.

How much did Chelsea earn from the 2025/26 Premier League season?
The transfer window is likely to be another busy one with exits at Stamford Bridge to maintain their position on the right side of the financial regulations.
Their numbers have been boosted by the fact that, according to The Athletic, Chelsea earned £162.6m from playing in the Premier League during the 2025/26 season.

The low finish in the table is reflected in the merit payout. The Blues were handed £18.9m for this, in comparison with £34.3m that was given to league winners, Arsenal.
Television deals see every club in the league earn nearly £100m, and is behind the reason why the Premier League has overtaken any competitor in terms of prestige.
Despite finishing behind the likes of Sunderland and Bournemouth in the table, Chelsea still earned more than those two on facility fees. However, they will now benefit from the revenue from playing in Europe next season.

Rebuild required for Chelsea under Xabi Alonso
It has been seen as a major coup for Chelsea to convince Alonso to take over as their new manager, with the hope being he will act as pulling power to top stars.
There is certainly talent for the Spaniard to work with, although it remains to be seen if it will still be in West London when the new season gets underway.
Financial expert Adam Williams has tipped Chelsea to have to sell a big name this summer in order to maintain their stance as compliant with financial rules.
Enzo Fernandez seemed to say goodbye to the fans after the final game of the season, while Barcelona are still pushing hard to sign Joao Pedro.
