Paul Merson says Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard pulled off a skill no Premier League player can

Paul Merson praises Leandro Trossard’s skill recently.

Merson claims no Premier League player can pull the skill off.

Trossard could be Arsenal’s danger man against PSG.

Leandro Trossard is one of the most skillful players Arsenal have at their disposal, alongside the likes of Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard.

The Belgian can drift past players with relative ease due to his quick feet, possesses an excellent weaker left foot and outside the boot passes. Trossard was bright against Burnley recently and he pulled off a brilliant piece of skill.

The 31-year-old looked like he was going to play a ball with his right foot before shifting it onto his left and executing a stunning pass with his instep to absolute perfection.

A certain Paul Merson was left mesmerised, as Kai Havertz got on the end of the former Brighton attacker’s pass and put in a cross for Eze, which was eventually blocked.

Paul Merson stunned by Leandro Trossard’s left-footed outside-the-boot pass against Burnley

Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, Merson initially lauded Trossard even though in his eyes, Arsenal legend Robert Pires was a superior player to the winger.

“Pires is one of my favourite players to ever play for Arsenal. I thought he was an unbelievable footballer, I’m going to Pires and quite easily but I think Trossard’s been amazing. Trossard is a proper footballer.”

Paul Merson went on to claim that Trossard’s skill against Burnley is one that no other player in the Premier League can pull off.

“He did something last week in a game against Burnley, I don’t think any professional footballer in the Premier League can do now. He got the ball on the left, he went to play it with the outside on his right, it got cut and he got it back on his left and bent it around the defender.

“I don’t think hardly any player can do that in the Premier League can do that with both feet.”

Leandro Trossard could be Arsenal’s X-factor against PSG

Paul Merson certainly makes a strong case and against Paris Saint-Germain, Trossard could very well prove to be Arsenal’s X-factor.

L’Equipe have revealed that Achraf Hakimi could miss PSG’s clash against Arsenal and the Premier League winner could cause terrorise the Moroccan’s potential replacement in midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery.

Even if Hakimi is deemed fit to start in the Champions League final, he would find it a challenge to deal with Trossard due to his skillfulness, knack of arriving late inside the box and eye for a pass.

The Arsenal star could make himself a hero in Budapest if he has a night for the ages and he would be relishing the opportunity to win the double this season.
