Everton fans give their final verdict on signing Chelsea loanee Tyrique George

Tyrique George has spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan from Chelsea at Everton, and their fans have been very impressed with what they have seen.

Opportunities were hard for the youngster to come by at Stamford Bridge following the summer signings of Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho.

It took George a number of weeks to see regular minutes at Everton, although David Moyes had been pleased with his performances.

Everton fans want to keep Chelsea loanee Tyrique George

The loanee came off the bench and looked very bright in their final day defeat to Tottenham, which ultimately saved Chelsea’s arch-rivals’ place in the Premier League.

A variety of Everton fans took to social media to discuss their club’s season, and were very complimentary of George, who some would love to permanently sign.

One user said: “We HAVE to sign Tyrique George, he’s delivered some delicious crosses.”

Another added: “Have seen enough from Tyrique George to go again next season. Proper winger who takes on a full-back, can go either way. Learning from Jack Grealish across a full campaign, even if they share minutes, is a combination I’d be behind. Should’ve played the full game yesterday.”

A third stated: “Tyrique George a breath of fresh air for EFC wide options Mentioned earlier about pace & quickness being key He makes his mind up early, he’s direct. Where as EFC other options are more slow it down, great dribblers but slow play down for a side wanting to quickly counter.”

A number of Everton fans also voted George as their young player of the season, ahead of big-money signing Tyler Dibling.

Tyrique George to now return to Chelsea

After the 2025/26 season has come to an end, George will now move back to Chelsea to see what the future holds.

A new manager coming into Stamford Bridge always opens up a chance for players who have been out of the fold to come back in and prove their worth.

George was tipped to succeed under Liam Rosenior before being sent out on loan this season, so Xabi Alonso’s opinion will likely be important this summer.

The underwhelming seasons for Garnacho and Gittens has left Chelsea fans wanting change out wide, and it remains to be seen whether George fits into those plans.
