Several Chelsea players let supporters down this term as the team scraped a finish in the top half of the Premier League table.
On paper, Chelsea have one of the best squads in England. The likes of Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella are all talented footballers.
However, Palmer and Cucurella were not at their highest level this season, while Caicedo’s form really plummeted after a very strong start to the campaign.
With everything now wrapped up, The Chelsea Chronicle has been discussing the biggest underperformers in the Blues’ squad.

Chelsea fans name Liam Delap as team’s biggest underperformer
While Chelsea supporters would have been expecting more from Palmer and Caicedo after how the pair performed last year, they are in no doubt that Liam Delap has been the team’s biggest underperformer.

Delap was quite an exciting arrival at Chelsea after scoring 12 goals in 37 Premier League appearances for Ipswich Town the season before.
He also managed to find the back of the net in the Club World Cup as Enzo Maresca’s side went on to claim the trophy.
However, he has only scored one goal in the Premier League this season, resulting in Chelsea fans here on TalkingPoints voting him as the biggest underperformer in the team. Agree or disagree? Let us know by commenting below:

Delap has not been at Chelsea for long, but it looks like he could already be heading out of the club after such a torrid season.
It has been claimed that Xabi Alonso has already approved a Delap exit, meaning that the England Under-21 international is unlikely to get another year at Stamford Bridge.
While Delap could leave, a new centre-forward could arrive. Once again, Victor Osimhen is being linked to Chelsea.
The Nigerian or another No.9 will definitely be needed if Joao Pedro also departs amid interest from Barcelona.
