Manchester City are interested in rivalling Celtic and Rangers to sign a Sheffield Wednesday star ahead of the summer transfer window.
Celtic and Rangers are often going head-to-head for players due to their similar stature in Scotland, but it is rare that they are shopping in the same market as Manchester.
The Premier League club are entering a new era after Pep Guardiola opted to leave this summer, with GIVEMESPORT sources confirming that Enzo Maresca is set to take over.
It could be a busy window for the Manchester club after missing out on the Premier League title race to Arsenal this year.
Celtic and Rangers will also likely be busy, especially the latter after their disappointing end to the season.

According to a report from talkSPORT, Manchester City are exploring the possibility of re-signing Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles during the summer transfer window.
City are believed to be preparing for the departure of James Trafford, who has struggled for game time since arriving last summer.
Trafford joined the Manchester club before the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma, meaning he was quickly demoted to second choice under Guardiola.
Whether new manager Maresca will have a change of heart in the goalkeeper department remains to be seen, but it's likely that Donnarumma is going to remain first choice.
As a result, City will need to find a new backup goalkeeper, and that's where a move to re-sign Charles, who began his career in City's youth academy, comes into play.
Celtic and Rangers Also Keen on Charles
Pierce Charles
A previous report from talkSPORT claimed that both Celtic and Rangers were keen on signing Sheffield Wednesday's Charles in the summer transfer window.
Charles, described as 'unstoppable', is set to leave Wednesday following their relegation from the Championship to League One, and there are a host of clubs who are battling to secure his signature.
At the age of 20, Charles played 20 times for Wednesday in the Championship this season. He's a goalkeeper with huge potential and ability.
It remains to be seen who is going to win the race, but Rangers and Celtic might have the upper hand if they are willing to offer first-team football.
