PSG to be handed double injury boost ahead of Champions League final against Arsenal: Reports

Paris Saint-Germain are set to be handed a double injury boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League final clash against Arsenal. PSG are set to face off against the North London side at the Puskas Stadium in Budapest, Hungary.

According to RMC Sport (h/t Get Football News France), Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi are set to be fit for the final against the Gunners. Dembele and Hakimi were injury concerns for the clash, but PSG coach Luis Enrique expects the duo to travel with the squad for the final.

2025 Ballon d'Or winner Dembele was forced off with an issue in their last Ligue 1 game against city rivals Paris FC early in the first half. As for Hakimi, the right-back picked up a hamstring injury in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.

Reports now claim both the superstars will take part in the PSG training on Tuesday (May 26). The outlet also added that the PSG players and staff will fly out to Budapest on Friday (May 28).

Dembele was recently named the Ligue 1 Player of the Season. In an interview with RMC Sport (h/t Get Football News France), he guaranteed that he'd be fit to face Arsenal in the Champions League final. He said:

“I’ve had so many niggles or major injuries in my career, whether here at PSG or even before, especially with big games coming up, particularly this final, I preferred to stop and, above all, not take any risks.”

Other reports suggested that Achraf Hakimi, despite his inclusion in the squad, is unlikely to start the game against Arsenal.

PSG boss Luis Enrique speaks on Arsenal ahead of Champions League final

Speaking in an interview with UEFA.com, Enrique spoke about PSG's upcoming Champions League rivals Arsenal. He said:

"I don't think the two teams are opposites. Arsenal are a team that is built in the image and likeness of Mikel Arteta. He clearly started with Pep Guardiola's ideology, built on possession-based football. They're incredibly competitive, showing Mikel's personality.

"They're the best defensive team in Europe, and they have been for a few years. It's an explosive combination. They don't depend on one player. They score a lot of goals from set pieces and have that combination of being a team that doesn't concede goals and scores a lot of goals.

"People may say that they don't score team goals, but who cares about that? Ask any Arsenal fan and I'm sure they’re delighted. They've now won the Premier League, and I congratulate them. They deserved it from the beginning because they've produced a great season. They were very close to winning every competition they were in."
