Chelsea are well aware of Real Madrid’s interest in signing star midfielder Enzo Fernandez, and now incoming manager Jose Mourinho’s stance has been revealed.
Fernandez appeared to wave goodbye to the travelling Blues fans following their defeat to Sunderland on the final day of the season.
So far, Xabi Alonso’s hiring has not convinced the World Cup winner to stay at the club, and Chelsea face a nervous wait throughout the summer to see how things play out at the Bernabeu.

Jose Mourinho a big fan of Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez
Florentino Perez has promised to sign Fernandez if he wins the race to remain as Madrid president, after seemingly delivering on the promise of hiring Jose Mourinho already.
When it comes to big name signings, the Chelsea man appears at the top of the list for the European giants, and would certainly get the approval of the incoming manager.

According to TeamTALK, Mourinho is a huge admirer of Fernandez, and would welcome the opportunity to build his side around the Argentine.
Chelsea would need to sell Fernandez for around £70m to make back his book value, after previously smashing their own transfer record to bring him in.
The Argentina international is not the only Chelsea player strongly linked with a move to Spain. Marc Cucurella is on the shortlist for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Other clubs still in the hunt for Fernandez
The recognition of Chelsea’s need to balance the books this summer has seen a number of clubs register their interest in signing one of Chelsea’s top stars this summer.
Arsenal have enquired about Fernandez’s services, however they are expected to prioritise other areas on the pitch first.
Manchester City have been strongly linked with Fernandez too, and their decision to hire Enzo Maresca as Pep Guardiola’s replacement has added a new dynamic to that affair.
A move away is seen as likely at this point, and Chelsea would surely rather he left the Premier League so they were not directly strengthening a domestic rival.
