Former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca could be set for a reunion with Enzo Fernandez.
Maresca is expected to be named as the new Manchester City boss following Pep Guardiola’s decision to step down.
Real Madrid are interested in signing Fernandez this summer, but Maresca is determined to bring his ex-player to the Etihad.
If Chelsea have to sell this summer, which ONE are you sacrificing?🤔

Enzo Maresca feels Man City lack Enzo Fernandez’s profile
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Maresca is “desperate” to reunite with Fernandez in Manchester.
Plettenberg has claimed that Maresca views Fernandez as a type of player City do not currently have in their squad.
If the 25-year-old does leave Stamford Bridge in the upcoming transfer window, one former Chelsea defender will not be too bothered.

Frank Leboeuf recently hit out at Fernandez, telling him that he can depart if he wishes to. Not everyone associated with Chelsea will feel the same, though, especially after the season that the Argentine has had.
Fernandez finished the 2025/26 campaign as the Blues’ second top scorer, netting 15 times across all competitions.
Only Joao Pedro scored more goals than the Argentina international after finding the back of the net on 20 occasions.
Why Chelsea can’t afford to sell Enzo Fernandez to Man City
Fernandez is clearly discontent at Chelsea at the moment, while the Blues are probably going to have to sanction at least one big sale this summer.
However, selling one of their best players and to a direct league rival is madness. No one knows how City are going to perform next season without Guardiola.
This is a great opportunity for Chelsea to pull closer to the Citizens, but that is not going to happen if they allow one of their biggest assets to join them.
BlueCo have been happy to do business with their rivals in the past, but now is not the time for them to be strengthening this particular club. Chelsea need to either keep Fernandez or sell him to Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain.
