Arsenal co-owner Stan Kroenke and head coach Mikel Arteta have called Gary Neville the "best supporter" in a gift to the former Manchester United defender. The gift comes after Arsenal were crowned as Premier League champions.

The Overlap did a Champions special at Arsenal's training ground. During a chat with Arteta at the training ground, Kroenke made his way over and handed a gift bag to Neville. "On behalf of our entire club, we have a little present," he said.

When Neville asks if he'll like it, he replied with: "I think you'll love it, Gary."

In the gift was two Arsenal shirts with Wright's and Neville's names on the back. Both are signed by Arteta, with the message on Neville's reading: "Our best supporter."

Arteta then says: "Gary was here a few weeks ago, we spent some time together, we had a coffee, and we had a very good full discussion. So I gave him that shirt, and I said, when we win it please, you have to put it on.

"He didn't say yes, that was my suggestion, that's enough."

Neville responded with: "Thank you so much, that will get framed, it will go in my house, that, Thank you, you deserve it."

The gift comes after Neville received some criticism from Arsenal fans for allegedly overcelebrating Manchester City's victory over Liverpool to put pressure on the Gunners in the title race.

Arsenal claimed the title just over a week ago, when City failed to beat Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The Arsenal squad gathered to watch the game at the club's training ground, with celebrations following the full-time whistle.

The side ended the 22 year wait to get their hands on the Premier League trophy on Saturday when they lifted the silverware following the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
