Mikel Arteta has been crowned the LMA Premier League Manager of the Year - but missed out on the main gong. The Arsenal boss has enjoyed a brilliant campaign in North London.
He helped the Gunners end their 22-year-long wait for the Premier League crown as they eventually finished seven points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City. Arteta could yet add to that, with the North London side set to take on French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Before that, Arteta has already collected a personal gong after being named the LMA Premier League Manager of the Year at a glitzy awards ceremony in London. The Spanish coach attended alongside his staff.
Despite having claimed the Premier League award, Arteta missed out on the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy for overall manager of the year. Coventry boss and former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard claimed that gong instead and was handed the trophy by England head coach Thomas Tuchel.
"It is of course not the same without Sir Alex himself and we wish him all the best and a speedy recovery so that he is hopefully with us next year on stage again,” the German said. “Until then I have the privilege to read this letter to you, Frank.
"Dear Frank, many congratulations on being named LMA manager of the year. You should be very proud of what you and your team have accomplished.
"Your personality as a manager and a leader is so clearly defined in how your team has played great football this season -- with confidence and self-belief and I have enjoyed watching you.

"I know from speaking with you that you have great humility and that important quality of a curious mind for learning. I'm sure winning this award will mean a great deal to you, Frank, and I wish you the best of luck in the Premier League next season."
Coventry enjoyed a sensational season under Lampard as they earned promotion to the Premier League. The Sky Blues amassed 95 points on their way to winning the league and will be joined in the top flight by Ipswich Town, who secured an instant return.
Hull City will also be a Premier League club once again next season after beating Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
