‘Possibility’Cole Palmer now leaves Chelsea for Premier League rivals

Cole Palmer is the latest big-name player at Chelsea to be linked with a move away from west London.

There has been plenty of speculation about Enzo Fernandez and Joao Pedro potentially departing Stamford Bridge amid interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

As of now, Real Madrid and Barcelona do not appear to be considering Palmer, but one English club would seemingly welcome the attacking midfielder to their stadium.

Has Cole Palmer been wronged? Or is it just deserved for his poor form?🤔

Cole Palmer could join Manchester City in near future

Chelsea signed Palmer from their Premier League rivals Manchester City in 2023. Three years later, and the Englishman is being linked with a move back to the Etihad.

According to talkSPORT, Palmer returning to City is a “possibility”, although a transfer this summer looks unlikely.

For now, Chelsea have no plans to sell their talisman, the same outlet claims. Palmer had quite a disappointing season but was still able to score 10 goals in the Premier League, reaching double figures for a third consecutive campaign.

As a result of his inconsistent form this term, Palmer was left out of the England squad for the World Cup.

It will at least give him the chance to rest this summer and be fresh for the Xabi Alonso era, which will begin when the Spaniard officially takes over at Chelsea in July.

Cole Palmer’s record at Manchester City

Palmer is an extremely talented player, but it did not quite work out for him at City, largely because he was competing against some of the best attackers in the world for a starting spot.

In total, he made 41 appearances for City, but only 13 of those were starts. The England international scored six goals and provided two assists.

Palmer may feel that he has a point to prove after being sold by City. If Chelsea do not get back into the Champions League, fans should start to worry about his future.
