EXCLUSIVE: Alan Smith Predicts The Scoreline As Arsenal Face PSG In The Champions League Final

Speaking exclusively to Gooner News (courtesy of Best Betting Sites UK), Smith said he can see Mikel Arteta’s side securing a historic victory against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest:

“I’ve actually gone for 2-0 to Arsenal. A lot of people are going for a 1-0 win. I think they might get a second. I do fancy them. It’s going to be fascinating, but I’m going 2-0 to the Gunners.”

Such a result would be against the formbook, with many favouring holders PSG to retain their crown, but Smith is clearly confident heading into Saturday’s match.

Arsenal have had ideal preparation

The fact that the Gunners were able to rest key players on the final day against Crystal Palace last weekend means that they should be very fresh for the PSG game.

With the likes of Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and David Raya having played no part at Selhurst Park, it means they would have had the best part of 10 days to prepare.

Of course, PSG are in a similar situation. Manager Luis Enrique even arranged a friendly to keep his players match sharp, having sewn up the Ligue One title more than two weeks ago.

Arteta is still sweating over the fitness of Jurrien Timber (groin) heading into the game, while there are also question marks over the fitness of Noni Madueke (hamstring) and Christian Norgaard (knock).

David Raya (back) should be fit, but Ben White has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a long-term knee injury.

PSG, meanwhile, have welcomed two key men back to training. Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi are hoping to be available for the final.
