Why Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could question starting Timber against PSG.
Arsenal fans will be hoping that Jurrien Timber recovers from his groin injury and is deemed fit to start against PSG in the Champions League final.
Arsenal are trying to heal Timber from his setback to ensure he is given the go-ahead to feature against Luis Enrique’s side.
With Ben White ruled out against PSG already, right-back could be a weak link for Mikel Arteta ahead of Saturday’s contest.
However, a fresh announcement has been made that suggests that Timber could be returning to full fitness.
Jurrien Timber named in Netherlands World Cup squad ahead of Champions League final
Timber has been terrific this season and with the former Ajax star arguably being the best defensive right-back in Europe, he would be Arsenal’s best answer to tame PSG superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Otherwise, Christhian Mosquera may have to start against PSG but the Spaniard is not a natural right-back and he could get torn apart by wingers like Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue.
However, the Netherlands have named their squad for the 2026 World Cup and one of the names in their roster is none other than Timber.

Ronald Koeman’s decision to take the 24-year-old could indicate that he could feature against the Parisians.
Mikel Arteta could be in two minds about starting Jurrien Timber in PSG vs Arsenal
Even if Timber is fit to play against PSG, Mikel Arteta may be in two minds about starting him.
While the defender’s quality is unquestionable, there could be question marks about whether it would be wise to throw him into the wilderness of a Champions League final after returning from a lengthy injury.
On the other hand, Timber has consistently fared well in big games for Mikel Arteta and he has the experience to deal with the pressure that comes with playing in a Champions League final.
