Chelsea are facing the prospect of more disgruntled stars looking to leave the club this summer after the Blues missed out on Champions League football for next season.
Xabi Alonso is set to arrive in July as Chelsea’s new manager but the Spaniard could already be hit with a mass exodus of players, with doubts emerging over the futures of stars such as Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez" href="https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2026/05/chelsea-transfer-news-xabi-alonso-faces-nightmare-scenario-with-cole-palmer-and-enzo-fernandez" target="_blank">doubts emerging over the futures of stars such as Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez.
Chelsea will need to make sales in order to continue their extravagant spending under their BlueCo owners and also facilitate a rebuild under Alonso after a disappointing campaign.
One player who could be heading towards the exit door is Filip Jorgensen, with the BBC" href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c74rr3gyjgwo" target="_blank">BBC reporting that the goalkeeper has indicated a desire to leave over a lack of game time.
Jorgensen played 12 times in all competitions last season and briefly was trialled by Liam Rosenior as the club’s first-choice keeper but the 24-year-old failed to impress in his five Premier League appearances.
Chelsea are looking to restrutcture their goalkeeping situation and would be open to Jorgensen’s departure ‘on favourable terms’, with the player said to have told the club that he wants first team football.
Jorgensen set to depart as Chelsea look towards future with goalkeeping spot
Jorgensen joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2024 for €24.5 million but he has largely been a backup to Robert Sanchez in goal and has endured a number of high-profile errors in his limited appearances.

Interest had emerged from the likes of Genoa, Besiktas and Porto in January but Chelsea blocked any approaches in mid-season for Jorgensen.
However, Jorgensen is considered behind Sanchez in the pecking order and could also find himself playing second fiddle to Mike Penders after the youngster’s impressive loan at Strasbourg.
Penders was touted as the starting goalkeeper next season under Rosenior before the English coach was sacked last month" href="https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2026/03/chelseas-next-goalkeeper-will-be-mike-penders-leading-pundit-claims" target="_blank">was touted as the starting goalkeeper next season under Rosenior before the English coach was sacked last month and it remains to be seen where Alonso stands on the 20-year-old, however he is highly-rated by Chelsea and is seen as a long-term part of the future.
Chelsea have also not ruled out the chance of signing a new goalkeeper, particularly if Jorgensen is sold, with a move for long-term target Mike Maignan still being considered as well as Sunderland’s Robin Roefs." href="https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2026/05/xabi-alonso-first-transfer-demand-chelsea-57m-solution-long-term-issue-robin-roefs-mike-maignan" target="_blank">with a move for long-term target Mike Maignan still being considered as well as Sunderland’s Robin Roefs.
