**Former West Ham captain Declan Rice says he has “no doubt” that the Hammers will make a swift return to the Premier League.**
Rice helped relegate the Hammers when his current team Arsenal won 1-0 at the London Stadium earlier this month. However, writing on his Instagram account, [**Rice**](https://hammersheadlines.com/west-ham-news-declan-rice-arsenal-fixture/) said:
“I’m absolutely gutted to see West Ham relegated. A club that really does mean so much to me.”
“As I said before, I wouldn’t be where I am today without everything the club has done for me. With that being said, I have no doubt they’ll be back where they belong in the Premier League in no time. I will be supporting always.”
It will be a summer of change at West Ham
-----------------------------------------
Returning to the top flight at the first time of asking is going to be tricky due to the expected large turnover of the playing squad.
It is believed that the Irons need to raise between £100m and £150m in player sales over the coming weeks and months.
That means very few of the club’s star names will likely still be playing in claret and blue by the start of next season.
Nuno is set to stick around
---------------------------
In a surprising U-turn, the club have confirmed that Nuno Espirito Santo will remain in charge to guide West Ham back to the Premier League.
It was widely expected that the Portuguese coach would be sacked but it has been reported that co-owner Daniel Kretinsky stood his ground, with the Czech billionaire keen on retaining Nuno’s services.
The Hammers boss does have a good track record in the Championship. In his one and only season managing in England’s second tier, he guided Wolves to promotion, finishing the season top of the table on 99 points.
