According to journalist Jack Gaughan, while speaking live on Sky Sports News, Guardiola has already confided in his close friends that the job he wants next is the England national team.
It's reported that the City legend would 'fancy' the job in the future, if things were to align. However, he is likely to have to wait for a couple of years at least, with Thomas Tuchel having signed a new contract earlier this year that should keep in the role until 2028.
However, with the World Cup to take place this summer, a poor performance could see the German's role called into question, and may potentially open the door for him to step in.

If they are to maintain that stance in the future, then Guardiola is undoubtedly going to be the number one target the next time the job becomes vacant, and if Pep is willing to wait for that, then the job will be his to have.
However, there is no guarantee that will be soon, with Tuchel also an elite coach and the FA showing their belief in him by handing him a new contract, so the situation has now become a waiting game for all involved.
