Chelsea are expecting a bid in the coming days from France for Romeo Lavia, who Chelsea are open to parting ways with this summer.
Romeo Lavia has endured a horrific fitness record since his move from Southampton, to the point where he is still yet to complete 90 minutes for the Blues.
Lavia’s lack of minutes has seen him left out of Belgium’s World Cup squad. Only Mike Penders will represent Chelsea for the Red Devils.
Chelsea made a mistake getting rid of Noni Madueke! Do you agree?😠
Andrey Santos‘ addition to the squad has added another obstacle for the midfielder when he is fit, and therefore Chelsea are open to his sale this summer.
Journalist Simon Phillips has stated that Monaco are set to bid £25m to sign him this summer, with them seeing this as ‘fair’ due to his injury record.

He said on his Substack: “The Blues are looking at new midfielders to come in this summer, and there is a real concern over the injuries that Lavia has consistently had. The Belgian international has never completed a full 90 minutes since being at Chelsea.
“Monaco have been monitoring Lavia, and our sources have heard that they are readying an offer of around £25m to sign him this summer. The lower offer is due to Lavia’s injuries and the risk that would come with signing him, which Monaco believe to be a fair offer.
“Lavia is seen as a replacement for the departing Lamine Camara. The player stance will be important in this one and whether he wants to leave the Premier League.
“It’s unclear whether Chelsea would accept this offer, it will all depend on his current book value. The club will not be keen to take a loss on any of their player sales this summer.”
Chelsea signed Lavia for £58m in 2023, however they will not be able to convince anyone to sign him for similar money this summer.
What is a fair price for Joao Pedro? 🔮
He cost £60m a year ago…
Chelsea braced for plenty of midfield change this summer
While Moises Caicedo has put pen to paper on a new contract, there is far less security over the rest of the midfielders in the squad.
Enzo Fernandez is expected to leave Chelsea should a side stump up big money this summer. Real Madrid are strongly linked with signing the Argentine.
Santos’ future is by no means secure, with him another who will not get the chance to impress alongside his nation at the World Cup.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea will sign a player who can feature in the heart of midfield, although they are expected to announce the signing of Valentin Barco from Strasbourg.
